This day in 2007:
Urfa, Turkey: It took us to the end of our trip to find the real Turkey. The city of Urfa was untouched by tourists and was full of traditional custom and tradition. While everywhere we went was traditional (we were their during Ramadan and every town had a Turkish bath and a barber on every corner), it didn't seem real until we got here. We appeared to be the only white people there and the locals where genuinely interested to see us, as we were to see them.
This day in 2007:
Mt Nurmot, Turkey: Unfortunately it was terrible weather but it was still worth the climb to the top of Mt Nurmot to see the statue's.
This day in 2007:
Cappadocia, Turkey: More amazing earth formations, made into homes. And our lunch being made the traditional way (no McDonalds here).

Cappadocia, Turkey: Not only does Cappadocia have amazing earth formations, but centries ago, the locals dug into the formations to create their home. That night we went to a traditional dance evening.

Turkey: We had a bit of a transit day, but we did drive past this amazing beach, were these two decided to do a bit of reading in the water. Later that night we went to this hill side that was alive with flame, direct from the earth.
This day in 2007:
Daylan, Turkey: We started the day with a boat trip up to the mud baths (above) then down the river past the Lycian rock tombs (below), spending the afternoon at the beach, and ended up with viewing some old roman ruins.
This day in 2007:
Ephesus: these ancient roman ruins at Ephesus were amazing, as good if not better than the Roman forum in Rome (or even the greek ruins in Athens)
This day in 2007:
Gallipoli: This is the site of the failed WWI campaign against the Turks by the Anzac troops. Details here.

Istanbul : Another day in Istanbul so we knocked of the main attractions. One of the most impressive was Aya Sofia.
This day in 2007:
Istanbul : The luggage arrived when we got back from the Grand Bizarre so we set of for some siteseeing. This is a giant underground Cistern built in Roman times (?).

Istanbul : We arrived in Istanbul from Budapest (via Vienna) but unfortunately our luggage didn't (it stayed in Vienna even though we were only there for 30 minutes). So we headed off to the Grand Bizarre to see what we would be wearing if it didn't turn up - and it didn't look pretty (well it wouldn't have on me anyway - see below).
